Tunicy tops are really in this year but you'll have to be really careful they don't swamp you - worth checking out petite ranges in places like Principles as the cut may be more flattering to an 8.
If you're petite in the nork dept you can wear the sort with gathers across the bust - if better endowed look for ones with a more empire line .
A couple of those, a couple of vests, a pair of cotton/linen trousers and maybe some capri pants and you're good to go.
Shoewise, if you have the legs for it ballet flats are great, but wedges are more flattering to the less delicate calf. Flipflops and/or converse-type canvas laceups also handy.
Good shops include Principles, Kew, Zara, Boden (if you dare) and Topshop / Dorothy Perkins for more catwalk-led bits.
