New purchases?

I was wondering if people would be interested in a thread showing their new buys?

There are some posters, like Floisme, whose comments I always jump to as in my head I know what style they wear as I like similar stores. I'd love to see the clothes people buy as I'm sure they spot items that I miss and see something in clothes that I don't but should if I had enough imagination and creativity. I also love seeing clothes that wouldn't suit me or my shape but look stunning on others.

It is fair that I go first but I have returned all my recent purchases as I want to lose some weight. My most recent buy is this dress from Cos. I am still awaiting its arrival. If anyone has it, I'd really appreciate your thoughts on it.

I've bought this uniqlo jumpsuit www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/product/women-jersey-sleeveless-jumpsuit-193015.html?dwvar_193015_size=SMA002&dwvar_193015_color=COL09&cgid=IDjumpsuit12810

I'm 5.6 ish so it's longer on me. Love it.

Plus the next linen blend dress in black which is just brilliant.

And this dress, which I'll send back if not perfect. Swear it was in the sale yesterday (though still ££££) www.whistles.com/women/clothing/dresses/josie-wheatsheaf-print-dress-25645.html?dwvar_josie-wheatsheaf-print-dress-25645_color=Navy%2FMulti#q=Wheatsheaf&tcgid=Womenswear&start=1

Thank you, Scarecrow!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/06/2017 15:48

I went and fondled the Fossil bag again but it was already dirty in the shop, so definitely would be filthy after a couple of weeks in my company. I might have looked at other stuff, but the sales woman was trying to really hard-sell to me, and annoyed me.

I ended up buying this cheap green one to keep me going whilst I try to hunt down the perfect replacement for my beautiful Hobbs one (may it RIP).

Also bought this necklace

Not sale but I tried this shirt on. Dp loved it on me but I wasn't sure. I really like the M&S cotton/silk mix and wish they'd do loads more in it, but I really don;t like blue and this is very blue!

taybert · 25/06/2017 16:12

Oooo, like these threads. I've not bought much over summer cos it was all minging and I bought quite a bit last year after I'd lost some weight. I've seen some nice things in the Cos sale but watching this with interest....

Floisme · 25/06/2017 16:20

I like the bag Remus - looks a lot more expensive than it is. Glad you've found something. I'm using a small, nylon cross body at the moment - holds a surprising amount but weighs next to nothing, which is what my poor aching back needs. It's also very ugly but I tell myself it's cool and vintage Prada-esque.

Love the necklace.

Personally I think you made the right call with that shirt but then I'm off patterns at the moment. I'd have probably loved it a year ago.

Bought it in a whim but completely love it!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/06/2017 16:45

Thanks, Flo. So many bags are let down by shiny gold zips, and I liked this one because all the hardwear is gunmetal.

You're right about the shirt. I do like prints, but generally in dress or skirt form. Such a shame though, because the fabric really is lovely.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/06/2017 16:46

I quite like ugly bags too. I have an incredibly ugly grey Kipling one but it's brilliant for day trips because it's got so many zips and fits so much into a tiny space.

Well, I swore I hated ruffles and off the shoulder, but I bought this dress. Very very flattering and comfortable

JaceLancs · 25/06/2017 21:11

Jaeger navy and white stripy jacket
Fat face cream and peach embroidered shirt
Nearly bought some Peter kaiser shoes today but talked myself out of them!

ImADingleDangleScarecrow · 25/06/2017 21:34

Judy I got them from Dunnes of all places, They were on their website about a month ago but aren't any more and they only had a couple left in store when I bought them. I'm in NI and am not sure that they have Dunnes in England though they do deliver there.

There was a thread a couple of weeks ago on S&B re navy polka dot cullotes with a few links to alternatives.

curragh · 26/06/2017 10:49

Couple of cotton shirts from my last H&M order (lots of other things going back)

stripes http://m2.hm.com/m/enie/productpage.0444291003.html#Light%20blue/Stripedd_

Polka dots_ http://m2.hm.com/m/en_ie/productpage.0469603001.html#White/Spotted

I have a Cos sale order en route, will link any keepers.

Am on the lookout for a casual stripe t-shirt dress - must be cotton - if anyone has seen a nice one?

curragh · 26/06/2017 10:51

Link fails

Also meant to mention that I love the pendant linked by Remus

MinesaPinot · 26/06/2017 13:51

BillStickers I've got that jumpsuit in black too! I've got it on for work today with ballet flats and it's super comfortable. Love it so much I've ordered the grey today with another t-shirt (if your order is over £30 there's a code for free standard delivery).

Sales have been quite disappointing so far IMO but I live in hope. Truth of the matter is I don't really need anything, but that's never stopped me in the past......! Might dip into the John Lewis sale for any Benefit bargains are seeing Remus purchase.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/06/2017 17:31

Love that jumpsuit, but I'd look like a sack of spuds in it.

And speaking of t-shirt dresses, has anybody seen a plain black midi length one, that's fairly fitted? Viscose would be fine, if cotton not available.

For striped ones, is Joules any good, Curragh? Or this Jigsaw one is more £££ but the colour is a bit different.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 26/06/2017 18:06

It's surprisingly flattering on Remus, honest.

JohnCheese · 26/06/2017 18:47

Clicked into this thread and thought to myself 'gosh I haven't bought anything in AGES'. I'm marvellous.

Hah!! Blush Came home to a Zara delivery! But in fairness, it's pas mal at all actually.
So. I bought:
these epadrilles and I love them. Wasn't sure on ordering but I love them. Goes against my 'no synthetics on my feet' but it's love.

<a class="break-all" href="https://m.zara.com/ie/en/-c643503p4178533.html#utm_referrer=www.google.ie/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">This Zara sweater in grey, can't find it in grey on the site. In the sale, something like £20. Keeper.

<a class="break-all" href="https://m.zara.com/ie/en/-c643503p4607504.html#utm_referrer=www.google.ie/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">This dress. Shiveringly hideous. Nice if you're y'know....10 years old. Don't know what I was thinking.

Pearl sweater. Like it. Keeping. Handy for autumn.

Pink lacey thing. Not sure.

Clutch. For my hectic social lifeHmm. Like it. Perfect 'evening' bag.

And then, just because the package wasn't big enough, I threw in <a class="break-all" href="https://m.zara.com/ie/en/-c643503p4349010.html#utm_referrer=www.google.ie/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this t-shirt. Which has a v low neck and you can see the top of my bra/boob. Prob a return.

There you have it. I've bought nothing in ages indeed. Grin

Floisme · 26/06/2017 19:05

I'm just getting the home page with those links, John. Often happens with Zara for some reason.

I know what you mean though, I was a bit surprised when I totted up how much I'd bought. And that's not even counting most of my second hand buys cos I just see them as 'good works', supporting charities or small local businesses Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/06/2017 19:10

Like this but not maternity is what I'm after. Anybody seen similar?

ImADingleDangleScarecrow · 26/06/2017 19:26

I really like the espadrilles and Pearl sweater John. Nice clutch bag too. Not keen on the pink lace top - if you're not sure I'd return.

curragh · 26/06/2017 19:41

Thanks Remus, I don't know how I didn't think of joules for stripes Grin. I have the harbour Breton top so may give the dress a go despite the extortionate delivery fees to Ireland. I like the style of the jigsaw dress but sadly can't wear that olive colour.

scarecrow thanks - sadly I think Dunnes are only in Ireland. I actually ordered the Whistles ones last night and picked them up from JL at lunch, but they are huge. Which is probably a good thing given the price!
