I try to stay loyal to M&S, really I do, but this morning's trip made me really angry.

Things I could not buy for love nor money:
a plain cotton or cotton mix work dress with short sleeves

a cotton jacket, or mostly cotton jacket, for work, without a polybloodyester lining

a skirt for work that was in mostly natural fibres and wouldn't have looked like a rag after an hour

a t-shirt bra that wasn't padded to high heaven, had at some point been near a natural fibre and was in my size

Things that I could have bought, had I been mad enough to do so:

a brown dress that looks like something a flasher would wear in the park and would have come to my ankles here

a skirt made of tinfoil here

a strait jacket here

something that looks like a cross between Lady Macbeth, Mr Happy and Abigail's Party here

A lab coat here

My own personal circus tent here

Who the fuck designs these monstrosities? And who the fuck wears them?

Grin at the canary wee willie winkie dress!

I went in on the 20% day and had a good look round the entire store. All I came away with was a pair of wide sandals, a slip and a multipack of knickers.

When I was plus size I used to get half my wardrobe there, as it was one of only 2 stores on the high street that stocked my size.

I'm smaller now, so have a lot more choice. This year I got a lot of decent summer clothes from oasis, zara, h&m and uniqlo - they delivered.

I bought two lovely white linen shirts the other day.

They had some cute maxi skirts and I bought a pair of cropped trousers yesterday.

But the pink tent with the 'flattering sleeves' is still on the shelf. I think it will always be on the shelf. It's become a staple.

I find a lot of M&S stuff in charity shops and the old stuff was really good quality. Natural fabrics, flattering and wearable. And although it's already been worn and is a few years old, it's still in good condition. So yes, it's definitely changed for the worse!

Genuinely can't understand how they keep getting it so wrong!

I got sent a survey with some samples of Autumn & Winter to comment on- It isn't getting any better. There was one coat I would consider but the rest of the outfits were monstrosities.

I wanted some light cotton tops for a weekend away, nothing suitable in M&S - Sainsburys TU take your pick.
