Summer alternative to skinny jeans (decent legs but VEINS)

Marzipants · 12/06/2017 17:11

My legs aren't a bad shape (12-14, any extra weight sits on my tummy), but I have terrible veins behind my knees. They were always bad but after three pregnancies they almost look like old tattoos.

On the weekend / days off, I just ignore them and chuck on shorts, but can anyone suggest what to wear to work?

My usual work wardrobe is pretty causal - skinny jeans and a patterned top, but as the weather warms up so am I. Midi dresses make me look so frumpy (I don't have much of a waist any more) and leggings / jeggings look AWFUL on me. Am I destined to sweat all summer?

Help!

No advice I'm afraid, but watching with interest!
I always swelter in the heat because I don't like my body.
I've been looking at and reading lots of body positive stuff on Instagram lately and actually thinking 'fuck it' and allowing myself the comfort of being cool without worrying about how others judge me.
Confused

Cropped chinos or cigarette pants?

Or something like this, depending on dress code.

I always cover up in summer. I'm not good with sun or heat, I'm vain and don't have the legs or arms anymore and I'm far to idle for all this tanning, shaving, plucking, toenail painting fandango.

My summer uniform is chinos with either a silk or cotton shirt. I like the 'new' (i.e. old) cropped, slightly pleated, slouchy shape but there are plenty of slim leg ones around.

I'm not a huge Boden fan but they do have slim cigarette pants that I quite like. Alternatively have to tried that Sally Hansen make up for legs to try and cover the veins? It's not fake tan and provides a slightly airbrushed look. I think I would try that rather than sweltering in trousers.

I find being covered up much cooler when it's hot. I can't stand the feeling of flesh baking in the sun.

I have fantastic legs when encased in 100 denier tights but sadly I too have tons of veins all on the back of my knees Sad
I use the sally hansen stuff, it's pretty special but not as quick as throwing on a pair of tights or trousers!
I will watch this thread with interest, I'm a size 8 and work wise I need something smartish but comfy!

Ooh, never tried Sally Hansen. Off I go to Google!

You've all reminded me I saw someone wearing some nice, slouchy 3/4 length trousers. Hmm, worth further investigation I think.

Maxi skirts do not suit me! It makes me look like a barrel all the way down. Grin

I have similar legs.
1.Fake tan

  1. Skirts below the knee but above mid calf. A line is most flattering
