Can you recommend a really good line of SHEER lipsticks?

I love sheer lipsticks as I'm so fair that anything really pigmented makes me look like The Joker. It's the only way I can get away with bright corals or oranges as you get the vibe with just a sheer wash.

But I've realised my cheap 'n cheerful range (17 Mirror Shines) are actually pretty waxy and a bit ugh feeling. They also last about 5 mins.

Can anyone recommend a really lush range that I can try? Ones that last a few hours for preference?

I have this Kiko sheer lipstick in coral and it's excellent - colour lasts well. I apply, blot then apply another layer and blot again.

I also like the Rosie for Autograph Lipshine

I have it in Rose Bud (rosy pink) and Vintage Bouquet (works well as a "nude" colour for me)

Laura Mercier Sheer Lips are great. I have repurchased Bare Lips and Baby Lips many times.

Revlon Lip Butters are still the best IMO.

Nars lipsticks are sheer but with good pigment that leaves a nice stain

Clarine Joli Rouge Brilliant range is fantastic and very moisturising. www.clarins.co.uk/joli-rouge-brillant/80005119.html#start=1
Subtle enough for everyday casual wear but glam enough for nights out, they're so versatile. I also rock the Joker look if I'm not careful.

Likewise I find lip tints brilliant, like Benefit's Benetint, Posie Tint, Cha Cha Tint etc you can build the colour from very very sheer and hardly detectable to a deep full colour depending on the number of coats you add. I do wear lip balm over the top so they're not drying, but I have extremely dry lips. The Korean beauty brand Etude House do a range of lip tints too which are absolutely fantastic and usually under £10 on Amazon, or cheaper if you order from one of the Korean beauty websites.

Lastly, Wet N Wild do a chunky lip balm pencil called MegaSlicks Balm Stain, also available on Amazon, under £5 each and they are amazing, a real holy grail product. The colour lasts hours without needing to reapply, they are so moisturising and again you can make the colour as sheer or full as you like. I really love WnW stuff, really fantastic quality.

Rouge Coco Shine, though some are quite pigmented.

Revlon Chubby Sticks, the balm ones.

Dior have some lovely new summery ones. I'm really tempted.

Guerlain Rouge Automatique lipsticks are lovely, i've got a great sheer red called Coque d'or.

Lipstick Queen. Not part of their big lipstick line, Medieval is my fave. But they have lots of others.

DarthMaiden · 08/06/2017 13:53

Lipstick Queen does some nice ones. I really like medieval m.lipstickqueen.com/uk/shop-html-lipstick/lq-lipstick-medieval-eu.html

What was the chance of that cross post!!! :-)

I second Clarins Joli rouge.

If you mix a pigmented lipstick with a balm such as nuxe reve de miel you can make your own.

I've always like lip tints for being able to build colour gradually, benefits range is good and the bottles go a long way. They sometimes have little ones free with either glamour magazine or Elle so you could wait to try it out before splashing out on the full size product.

Max factor lipfinity lip tint pens are good for this too and much cheaper, plus the felt tip end makes it so easy to apply evenly.

Some great suggestions! I've owned Benetint before but it made me look like a creepy Victorian doll. I haven't tried the others mind you.

The WnW suggestion is great as I'm in ROI and WnW is in my local supermarket, lol. So I'll definitely check those out. I'm a big fan of their powder products but haven't paid much attention to the lip stuff.

The Clarins stuff is new to me, that sounds good, I do like a birra Clarins.

WnW is fantastic, I really rate all of their lip products, most of the lipsticks are dupes of MAC colours. I'm in the US so their stuff is everywhere here. After years of searching I found a red lipstick from them which does actually suit me and doesn't make me look like the joker, plus it was $1.50 Grin

Ooh, which shade is it?
