Bought this dress for work and general stuff like going for a drink. Can I ask what you think?

In my opinion, it's too busy, and also shapeless. I don't like flowers on stripes. But what do I know? If you feel good in it, it could look great!

myusernameisnotmyusername · 03/06/2017 22:21

Thanks for both comments. And thanks kittens for the compliment on my legs. I never thought they were good so thanks very much. I appreciate all the comments good and bad. I think it's a bit of a 'marmite' dress but I think I like it. I just need some confidence now!

Ignore!
You look lovely, can easily dress it up or down
I however like to keep work and out of work clothes separate

BusterGonad · 04/06/2017 08:20

It's a dress that can be worn anytime imo, if I'm honest I'm not keen on the back being a different colour from the front but with saying that I have 2 tops like that and I wear them all the time. I don't think it's unflattering, you are on an odd angle so that's probably it. I would wear it to work (smart/casual) I'd wear it to the pub, school run, shopping. Everywhere. It loooks very comfy too.

CrispyBathTowel · 04/06/2017 08:31

Sorry, I'm not sure if it's the camera angle but it looks as if it doesn't fit you properly. Too baggy up top and too tight on the hips Blush it could just be the way you're standing though.

myusernameisnotmyusername · 04/06/2017 08:42

Here is a picture more straight on. I was standing like that to show the denim bit.

I like floral and breton, but not together!

Summer workwear is v hard though so unless you work in high end fashion industry it should be fine!

BusterGonad · 04/06/2017 12:04

I think it's nice and looks very versatile!

myusernameisnotmyusername · 04/06/2017 12:05

Gosh yeah I couldn't be doing with working in fashion! Mostly my wardrobe consists of jeans, tops and black trousers but I'm struggling with this season's fashion so bit the bullet and went for something different!

OP posts:
needastrongone · 04/06/2017 12:24

I think it says 'I'm from Joules' VERY loudly indeed but that might be totally fine for you OP.

If you've put it on and thought 'yes!', then go for it Smile

SuperFlyHigh · 04/06/2017 12:36

It screams Joules at me and not in a good way! Have you tried Phase Eight for nice dresses?

SuperFlyHigh · 04/06/2017 12:37

need you posted just before me! Wink

myusernameisnotmyusername · 04/06/2017 13:08

Oh is Joules not good then?

OP posts:
Asmoto · 04/06/2017 13:12

I like it, and it would be fine in my office workplace.

SuperFlyHigh · 04/06/2017 13:13

OP, Joules is fine, but there are certain looks or fabrics from there which say quite loudly "Joules".

I think it's not a bad dress, can't see the denim angle of it from your pics, if you like it then wear it!

needastrongone · 04/06/2017 13:16

Just what Super said really but nothing wrong with that if you don't mind that Smile. The quality is generally good too and basics like Breton tops well made.

myusernameisnotmyusername · 04/06/2017 13:16

Oh thank you. It was actually my dp who picked it up and I didn't like it at first but liked it on. It doesn't have the logo on like their other ones. It's like a thin denim.

FitnessFad · 04/06/2017 13:20

I really like it and think you look great in it!

myusernameisnotmyusername · 04/06/2017 13:20

Thank you!

OP posts:
JennyGreenteeth · 04/06/2017 13:21

I like it. It's got a casual summery beach- pub vibe.

Nickname0 · 04/06/2017 13:31

I think its lovely on you OP it would be great with a nice wedge and some jewellery

myusernameisnotmyusername · 04/06/2017 13:39

Thank you both of you. I was also thinking a wedge would look nice. I have some white flats as well which I think would be ok. But yes wedges would really go with it.

OP posts:
burnishedsilver · 04/06/2017 14:53

Its nice but personally, I would exchange it for another random one of the same where the flowers are placed diffetently.
