Havanianas. Are they worth the money? Surely a flip flop is a flip flop?

Thinking of buying a "decent" pair of flip flops as l do find them comfy but looking online at Havaianas l can't believe the price. Tried some on in town today, and yes, they're flip flops!! Nothing special.
However l thought that a few years back when I bought a pair of "fit flops" and they were well worth the money, however they did have a bit of glam about them....sequins and a slight heel.
Havainas just seem...pricey for what they are...?

I bought some from a Havaiana store in America. They lasted exactly one year before one if the toe posts snapped. Had a pair from TKMaxx and they didn't last long either. They are comfy though but not built for more than a couple of weeks away.

Usually flip flops make me feel a bit sick, the feel of toe post bit honestly turns my stomach in other flip flops, but my Havs are quite comfortable. I still can't wear them for very long as i keep remembering about the toe post but for the short times I wear them, they're very bouncy and no rubbing at all.
All my dc have them and have no issues whatsoever with them. Apart from ds who is 5 and just getting used to flip flops and walks a bit like he's wearing flippers at the moment Grin

I have some for the pool area when on holiday, and they are slightly better than cheap flipflops but not worth the price differential in my opinion.

Fit Flops on the other hand are worth every penny. I have 3 pairs and wear them all the time in the summer when I'm not at work. They are sooooo comfortable.

I've tried them several times but I find them heavy compared to others. They really slap the underside of your feet when you walk. I much prefer crocs flip flops now.

I found they are worth the money. I would get cheap ones and need a few pairs a year but had mine for 3 years now, holidays and for after the gym mostly, and they are still good as new.
