Toms -sizing

I tried on a pair of Toms today in store in my usual size and couldn't even get them on my feet BUT I was wearing socks (I didn't want to be that person who puts stinky feet in shop shoes!)

The shop guy said they stretch a lot but I find Converse too narrow: are Toms ok once "stretched"?

I bought them and once I tried them on without socks they were fine. A little snug at first but never rubbed and they are absolutely hugely comfortable. I have narrow feet but a Morton's neuroma which makes wider fit shoes normally more comfortable but I love my Toms.

I will say they have only lasted a season as my ankles turn slightly as I walk so the material on the shoe's side touches the ground and rubs and wears away. When they become too threadbare I will definitely buy another pair. Will look for some on sale though as £50 for plimsolls seems extortionate.
