HELP!! Lunch at The Bluebird Chelsea - what to wear

Help please... I am having a nightmare. Invited for lunch on Sunday at The Bluebird (seen it on Made in Chelsea and looks quite relaxed but preppy!?) I have no clue what to wear.,. semi-social affair meeting a friend's parent who I may end up working for. I am in my 40's, overweight and not confident. I always wear same old things...very boring trousers, blouses etc. However, friends' parents are super-chic and I'm a mess mostly. ANY ideas??? Thank you so much.. Panicking.

You need to go for well groomed. Wear what you feel best in and comfortable in. Do your hair, nails (if you do usually) and make up.

And I think trousers and a shirt are fine

Agree with well groomed, also put together iyswim.

trousers and blouse sound fine but just up the grooming level a notch - make sure blouse is ironed, style hair one notch harder than usual (eg I normally sport ratty tangles natural beachy waves but for this would go for polished blowdry.)
