Calling all home hair salon experts! Toning orangey hair colour

I've got mid length light brown/dark blonde hair with (or I did have before the greys set in). For the last 6 years I just get my roots done with Majirel 7.1. This looks natural and my hair lightens up as it grows/ages so it looks blonder towards the ends (like a subtle balyage) However this tends to goes caramel/blondey orange as my hair has red undertones which I don't suit.

I've tried those purple shampoos but they don't do anything. Can anyone recommend anything? Would L'Oreal Dia Light help?

I was looking at the Dia Light 7.12 but am nervous about covering all hair in case it looks grey/witchy/falls out.

Is this easy to do? I'm happy mixing/applying colour - I've been doing my roots for about 2 years now - but I just don't want any catastrophes.

Any help appreciated!
