What to get to go with this jacket.

I bought this jacket on Ebay. It arrived today and doesn't go with the dress I was going to wear. Can anyone suggest any trousers that would go with this? It's for a wedding. I'm 5'6", a size 12 - 14 and have legs like a rugby player (I mortified by them).

widelegged black, possibly velevty?

It's a bit lighter in the photo than in reality. I'm never very sure about black with dark blue. I'll try it with a pair of wide black trousers I have.

Only suggested black as I think it'd be impossible to match the blue exactly, and gold on the legs is not slimming.
A gold skirt could work perhaps...

I should have also said, It's not actually gold, hence why it doesn't go with the dress I've got (also chinese style, dark blue with gold detail.)

I'm so rubbish at these things, I always forget to put in the right details.

Again with the forgetting details, the design on the jacket is cream embroidery.

(though I do find as a pear-shape that a dark slimfitting top with lighter trousers makes my arse look colossal - you may not have this problem)

I can't see the jacket as work won't let us look at ebay stuff, but if it's dark blue and cream, might you get away with a pair of brown/mushroomy colour trousers? But as I say, I can't see it, so might be talking out of my hat.

I had thought about linen trousers and I also have a coat these would go with (for future weddings). I can only hope someone else at the wedding has a bigger butt than I do .

It's not really that big (she says in denial)but anything that is quite feminanly cut just looks odd on me, will look next time I have got rid of DS for a few hours.

Take the jacket with you when you go to try stuff on, too, and wear heels, if you're planning to wear them to the wedding. Get the full effect.

I can get shot of DS for an hour next week while at gymnastics. I have some lovely navy heels I got last year so I'll take them too.

wow! that's a gorgeous jacket! but agree it will be very difficult to match the blue, and gold won't look good on the bottom. that seller sells dresses too - perhaps they have a matching dress / skirt?

That's a lovely jacket. I like MrsB's suggestion of wide black trousers.
