I wanted some comfy little sandals which are feminine and neat to
Wear with shift dresses over the summer. I like these but OH thinks they may be old lady.

Ahhh, "jazzy". If my partner refers to anything using that term it goes straight back!

butmumineedit · 14/05/2017 07:24

I have several pairs of these sandals
www.rieker.co.uk/remonte-ladies-c63/remonte-sandals-c93/wedge-c141/remonte-d0459-14-ladies-blue-sling-back-sandals-p6129 in various colours and they are so comfortable you forget you have them on. Perhaps not the most stylish but definitely the most comfortable

NeverTooOldForAnything · 14/05/2017 07:31

Yes to the Clarks clogs!

I have a similar pair in tan bought last year from Lotta from Stockholm and this style is so easy to wear, I hardly wore anything else last summer

tammytheterminator · 14/05/2017 07:32

I second Rieker.

cherryberrymum · 14/05/2017 09:00

Thanks everyone. I'll pass then. I'm mid 40's but not quite ready for the scrap heap yet.

Carvela Kollude. Very comfy, very delicate looking.

Dowser · 14/05/2017 12:04

I'm 65 so I'm almost old lady.
I wouldn't wear them either.

taybert · 14/05/2017 12:13

I think there's something about heeled sandals that are also comfortable which means it's quite tricky not to stray in to "old lady" territory so I tend to go for the "if you like them and they work for you, then go for it" line.

I also think it's really difficult to look at a shoe like that in isolation and declare whether it works or not. Nice pedicure, well cut shift dress, sunnies and they'll look very different to if you wear them with polyester elasticated waist trousers and an embroidered t-shirt.

OhDearToby · 14/05/2017 12:16

We sell them in the shop I work in. Don't think they've ever been bought by someone under 70. Sorry!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 14/05/2017 12:16

They're dinosaurs. I don't know about old LadyGrin

Teardropexplodes · 14/05/2017 12:16

What about Fit Flops? Surely you can find something nice in them?

Teardropexplodes · 14/05/2017 12:18

Are heels a must? Flats are sexier than those clumpy block heels. I only like heeled sandals if they are proper heels (i.e. Stilettos) or a good sized wedge.

tethersend · 14/05/2017 12:49

Esska has quite a few which would fit the bill.

Floisme · 14/05/2017 12:56

I hang out with several old ladies, and indeed I'm not far off being one myself, so thank you for the recommendation - I will pass it on. But first could you please tell me what I should say when they ask me why they should have to put up with wearing your unwanted shit?
