What the hell is going on with mules?

Now I know there's a 90's revival etc, but when I was out shopping this morning, metallic mules similar to the link below were all over the place. Lots of knotted ones too. If you like em, fine, but I swear these are almost identical to the ones my gran used to wear when she was going on holiday to Benidorm about 25 years ago. Just about everything you see over the years has been here before one way or another, but I will always see my lovely gran in these shoes, tottering off for a game of Bingo!

What 'new' fashion items do you really not get?

On them, it looks fresh and ironic because they are young and pretty and new to it. On the rest of us, it looks like we just raided the attic and lost our marbles.

Oh dear - I like mustard (it's the only yellow that suits me)...

However, I am with you on the ruffly bardot tops. All you see are people pulling them down as they ping up onto the shoulder constantly... you couldn't wear them while wrangling a toddler, either - far, far too easy for a child to dig in their claws and haul the entire ensemble down to your navel within seconds.

But but...I like a bit of embroidered denim...I have just got out a pair of jeans circa 2002 that I kept as I loved the embroidered pattern on it --and wanted it as a tattoo. I've just altered the rise as there was about 3 inches from the crotch to waistband...and taken about 6 inches off the flare...

I have a colleague who wears a selection of violently-ruffled tops every day. Every time I look at her I think she looks like a lampshade from the 1980s.
