What do we think?

1 Why is it so expensive ( most dresses are £200 ish) for polyester?

2 How do their sizes equate to the normal 8, 10, 12 etc?

I've seen a couple of dresses but Shock at the prices.

I agree with you whispering, I'm usually a 14 but the size 3 fits like a dream.

SinglePringle · 14/05/2017 13:43

I really dislike their clothes. Too twee for my liking. I go in wondering if it's changed at all but no.

Sciurus83 · 14/05/2017 14:41

I love some of their prints, especially from about 2 years ago but would never pay full price. £80 for a polyester shirt? I think not. I pick things up from the outlet in York or their online outlet, or wait for a sale to come around on brandalley. I really dislike how everything seems to be polyester at the moment, if I'm buying polyester I expect polyester prices!

I like their stuff but I'm too big for it Grin

I do like their stuff, I really like this dress

I'm really thinking of getting it for a wedding. Although I agree that £150 for mostly polyester is a bit steep!!

Just wanted to say that I love Ted Baker. Very good quality, flattering cuts and unique prints, plus the attention to detail is amazing-crystal buttons, beautifully detailed zippers and the most wonderful linings I have ever seen.
Designer style at high street prices albeit higher end.
I lived in Ted Baker skater dresses and knitted dresses during my pregnancy and I will always be eternally grateful to Ted Baker for that. I didn't buy one item of maternity clothing.
I'm curious to know, though where do most of you enjoy shopping?

It's a mixed bag, some stuff is too twee/too much with the pink and bows and rose gold but it has some beautiful coats (though you can tell they are TB) which are great cut and quality. Some of the dresses are lovely (also great cut and quality though don't get close to naked flames!)
I like them for 'bit different' tops to dress up jeans but I wait for the sale for them.

Sizing is big. I'm a 6-8 and sometimes find the size 1 too big.

IWannaSeeHowItEnds · 23/01/2019 16:12

Some of the bags are lovely. I bought a burgundy leather handbag with a chain strap for under £100 in the sale. It's eclipsed my desire for a Mulberry Lilly Chanel 2.55 , so it's saved me money really Grin. Can't speak for the fashion but the leather bags seem to be lovely quality.

artemisdubois · 23/01/2019 16:33

I've got a couple of handbags from there that I rate really highly, as well as a smart coat I bought about 3 years ago and a black velvet blazer I got when I was in my teens.

I think they make some pretty dresses, but personally I don't buy them as I just find them a bit too obviously/distinctively Ted Baker. And yes, if you go to a wedding wearing a floral Ted Baker dress (also true of Coast and more recently Self Portrait), it's quite likely somebody else will be wearing the same or very similar.

BabloHoney · 23/01/2019 16:57

Got a dress from there in the sale a couple of years ago.. have found it wears from well, much better then say Warehouse or Mango.

I am usually a size 8/10 and bought a size 8 which fitted well.

notsurewhatshappening · 23/01/2019 17:07

I've had one TB dress which fitted me beautifully and looked amazing. I'd love to find another but can't spend £200. Might look on eBay.

evilharpy · 23/01/2019 19:04

I have a beautiful TB wool belted coat that isn’t twee in the slightest, it’s brown with a very small, almost tweedy pattern. I’m generally a 10 in coats and this is a 2.
