Midi skater dress - what do I wear with it?

I've got this dress, identical but for the flowers which are pink and red on mine. I'm going to a christening type thing and want to wear it but am having a blank as to what to put with it.

Coats and jackets I've tried look odd because of the shape of the dress and I don't have a cardigan that would do, also can't workout what shoes to choose. Help please!

Yes I think you're right. Event is on Sunday I wonder if I could grab something suitable online. It is looking to be a bit warmer so possibly could get away with a cardigan. I have some silver sandals and some red T bar mid heels that might work.
