DP's sister is getting married soon and i got the hint from her that i should wear a dress and not a black one!

so would this dress be suitable for an april wedding?

i would go for a nice monsoon dress they go up to a size 22 and are lovely !

Agree with bundle, try Monsoon, they are good for all sizes up to bout 20 and really do cut for women, ie to suit curves. Think most suits are a bit stiff and starchy for weddings. I like the dress in the OP but do think bias cut can be a bit unflattering generally.
I think a pretty/glam silk dress and a little shrug to cover your shoulders would look perfect for an April wedding and Monsoon have loads of both of these styles in lots of colours/patterns.
