Hi, bloomin typical...i have been happily using home dye kits for the last 18 months or so whilst on mat leave on my dark blonde hair and have been pleased with the results (to dye it light blonde).

I decided to treat myself to the swankiest salon in my local town and i am devastated that the result is a full head of bright yellow - it looks vile! Of course on calling to ask them to sort it, i got condenscending twoddle about my hair being brassy to start with and not a hint of an apology. Humph. Anyway, am booked in to get a toner and maybe some darker pieces through it but i am looking for advice from anyone in the know as to what the best option would be?The hairdresser said on the phone that lowlights with toner could look flat? Also, am i right to believe that she didn't leave the bleach on long enough? My hair was ash blonde before so i think a straight forward job really.

TIA

Is it banana yellow? You could try a purple shampoo? Not sure what's available to you locally but I recommend the fudge one. High pigment :)

The sun's getting to me - if you have a picture probably get better advice haha

im guessing the bleach wasnt on long enough. What length is your hair?

you need bleach highlights if your hair can handle it then a toner to take out the brassiness. A pic would help.

Also get some good purple shampoo.

Purple shampoo, could you post a pic so we can see if we can suggest anything ?

Purple shampoo should help! I think John Freida do a good one!

Can you post a picture?

I've got box dye blonde hair but have really noticed the difference in the tone from brassy to much less so since using the Charles Worthington ultra violet shampoo/conditioner. Was sceptical but it really works. It's on offer in at Boots at the moment too www.boots.com/charles-worthington-colour-enhancer-ultra-violet-shampoo-250ml-10225835
