I am going to a posh restaurant with dp for his birthday and have nothing to wear, literally nothing - I live in jeans and baseball boots and feel like Dick Emery when I wear a skirt. Can anyone suggest an outfit for me to wear?

I have some lovely knee high boots (black), I don't do frilly, I like the idea of something tailored - a pencil skirt maybe?

I am 5 foot 9, a little thick around the middle, size 12-14, small of nork, bingo of wing (so nothing sleeveless).

I'm in London so am near all the usual places Jigsaw, Monsoon, Kew, Sisley etc

Please help style gurus

The top is nice but that wrap waist thing wouldn't work on me

Oh yes do get a dress

the sweater dress one is too high necked for a smart restaurant evening do IMO, you will look more glam in something else

Ooh yes, I like the top a lot.

I like dresses but just dont wear them so if I have to do posh I tend to go for linen trousers, they always look classy and you can still wear them down the pub!

I have a problem finding trousers to fit though, i need a 34" inside leg, otherwise I look like I'm wearing flood warners

What about that bow top with a pencil(ish) skirt?

Still not 100% convinced about pencil skirt, but I think this is one I've seen in M&S - quite silky material, and a small bow near the waist, though it would be hidden by the top - seaming through the skirt. Looked nice, if it's the one I'm thinking of, but you'd need to try it on, preferably with the top, if you could find both irl.

I bought this yesterday - very flattering, though I'm a very different shape to you. Lovely stretchy material, and very flattering around the stomach area.

I love that shirt!

Loving the whole sexy secretary effect of that with the pencil skirt I must say
