After quite a thick one (but still t-shirt rather than jumper style), loose rather than figure hugging with full length sleeves.

Well I was coming on to say Boden (I have two and LOVE LOVE LOVE 'em) but after reading all the replies, I'm off to the Joules website! Grin

dotandstripe · 17/04/2017 12:41

Joules is definitely thicker. H&M also sometimes has thicker ones in.

I love the Seasalt ones but they are more of a normal t-shirt thickness. Very durable though and hold their shape, mine have been worn and washed lots and still look great.

thisisallnewtome8 · 17/04/2017 14:31

I have just bought two fabulous tips from tk maxx. One navy and cream and one cream and navy. Jaeger ones that were £60.00 each down to £20.00 each.

CJCreggsGoldfish · 17/04/2017 14:35

I have a number of joules ones and really rate them. Have a look on their eBay store as you can get some styles for £15 and free delivery!

SierraJensen · 17/04/2017 14:39

I got a thickish one from Crew but the sleeves are 3/4. Think it's the 'ultimate Breton' - they have a few different ones.

carrie74 · 17/04/2017 14:46

J Crew dicks all over everyone else for Bretons. There's oodles of varieties. I have 2 and looking at getting another. Here's an example (I'm in US at moment, but check out the UK version): factory.jcrew.com/womens-clothing/knits_tees/Classic_Stripes/PRDOVR~B8722/B8722.jsp?color_name=oat-navy-spring

FourEyesGood · 17/04/2017 15:50

If you're long in the body, avoid Seasalt. I love their tops, but they're too short for me.

ZaraW · 17/04/2017 17:24

St James are by far the best quality. I have several from J Crew which are nice but quality doesn't match St James which are still made in France I think.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/04/2017 17:30

The Uniqlo one above -its nice and thick but feels really coarse Sad

Methenyouplus4 · 17/04/2017 19:03

Looked on Saint James but couldn't see prices?

Another vote for people tree

ArtemisiaGentilleschi · 17/04/2017 19:39

Boden are the most awful quality, Matalan and Asda are better, seriously!
I have some Joules ones which are really thick (almost too thick for summer) but fab quality.
Just ordered 4 from Seasalt with that offer and worrying now they'll be too short as am a bit of a giraffe!

BestIsWest · 17/04/2017 20:25

I had a couple from Boden last year in the longer length and yes, they were thin but I like that. I thought the quality was ok, they've washed brilliantly. But they seemed to have done away with the longer length and changed the design as the ones I ordered this year were not as nice. I have a Matalan one and it is not as nice as the Boden. It's faded a lot but it was a third of the price.

Bellabooboo · 17/04/2017 20:27

Seasalt. Thicker and wash better than Joules IMO plus cheaper!

wigglybeezer · 17/04/2017 21:03

I bought a couple of heavier ones from H&M, was really pleased until i washed them and they shrank up and are now a bit short!

southchinasea · 17/04/2017 21:29

Fat face have some nice ones this year. Fabric is quite thick and very soft and cosy to wear.

FitLikeQuine79 · 17/04/2017 23:11

Got to be Petit Bateau.

dontcallmelen · 17/04/2017 23:46

Yy funny neckline on the Boden ones also very thin & don't wash well.

Theycalledmethewildrose · 18/04/2017 01:45

Have you tried Me&Em? They are a very flattering fit. Think Kate Middleton wears them if you want to google images to see what it is like on. They are great for bigger stomachs.

I bought a nice one in Massimo Dutti. It is like a sweatshirt material so might be too thick for you? Agree Boden's offering are practically transparent. Depending on your body shape, H&M do excellent bretons for an excellent price but the quality varies. Unfortunately the fit doesn't flatter my overhanging stomach but the quality is often great.

Cos bretons are a nice shape too but I'm not sure if they are always worth their price. I bought a nice one last year from there for 19 pounds (or something similar) and I was pleased with it but wouldn't spend twice the price.

Topshop have some at the moment that are loose fitting. I think they are called 'Romantic'.The label is sewn down the back so you will either like or detest it. The material is thin but the fit is quite loose so it works (though I returned the one I bought).

Theycalledmethewildrose · 18/04/2017 01:46

ps I didn't mean to imply KM has a big stomach. She wore them post pregnancy!

Ollivander84 · 18/04/2017 02:29

Thanks to this thread I went browsing on long tall dally and bought 3 tops Blush they do have 17% off and free delivery so that's a plus!

Ollivander84 · 18/04/2017 02:29

Sally. I wasn't dallying definitely Grin

WhiteHairReally · 27/04/2017 15:15
