New handbag - keep or return

I always seem to go a bit mad when I finally have some time to myself to go shopping. Yesterday I had the afternoon in oxford st and was looking for a handbag, and ended up buying this

(Hope link works am rubbish on my phone). I can afford it, but it is a lot of money. I'm wondering about taking it back, my original budget was nearer the £400 mark. Is this bag a good buy? Is there anything similar for nearer my original budget? Ideally I'd like something I could put a small laptop in, smart for work meetings etc. I'm in London so can take it back next week if I change my mind. I'm just dithering and need the advice of the MN handbag gurus

If you're asking then that means you don't have £850 of love for the bag! Unlike it but agree with others that you could get something very similar for a lot less.

Managed to do some power shopping in my lunch hour. The LK Bennet Regan is my favourite although I was tempted by a radley wentworth st. Just need to decide the colour. The expensive bag is going back tomorrow

Arrgghh in London for work, brought bag with me in stupidily large box and bag. Just realised that I've left the receipt at home. Am hoping the fact that they took my home address and e mail means they have a record of me. Otherwise I'm stuck carrying the bloody thing round with me.

Is it real croc? If yes I'd never buy a real croc skin bag, not after the videos I've seen.

I just bought a Mulberry Zipped Bayswater for not much more & it's a real beauty.... they do it in a burgundy colour too...

Too much money if you don't love it. If it doesn't make you want to smile when you look at it, it's not worth your wardrobe space. You'll find something else you love.

Right, bag has gone back. Have to say Aspinal had great customer service even when I didn't have the receipt with me. I don't want to spend even more. I'm going to order the L K Bennet Regan, probably in tan as it's 20% off at the moment
