i have some high heeled brown boots, def very 80s, but hopefully late 70s ish too. am going to wear tight jeans tucked into boots and a swirly pointed lapelled blouse with matching hairband.

what dyou think? does this sound much more 80s than 70s?

am worried that its 70s on top but 80s from the hips down, iyswim!

It actually sounds quite nice

willywonka · 09/03/2007 12:57

Sounds suitably 70's to me

flared jeans may be more appropriate but if you have the tight ones then I'd wear them.

Makeup and hair will be v important too

noonar · 09/03/2007 13:10

thanks, folks

i have some very flared jeans, but they are quite contemporary and not tight down to knee like true flares.

would heels and flares work, though? the boots are the only footwear i have thats suitable.

any tips for eye make up?

I went as a punk and behavedf very badly!!

biglips, my oahs only made my outfit seem worse.all the pics on the web seem so outrageous- how can i match up?? so have re thought...my friend suggested putting on tights and shorts with the boots instead of jeans. a bit daring, by my standards, but quite funky, even if i say so myself

beetroot, am not really a punky kinda gal!

Eye make up must be blue !
I went to a 70s night wearing an Abba costume once (turquoise flares etc) - I loved the long blonde wig !!

noonar · 09/03/2007 20:48

whizz, the outfit is orange, brown and khaki...nice. not sure brown would work.

??? brown??? Never mentioned brown?
Eye make up has to be blue for 70s no matter what !
