Need an urgent style consultation please.

Situation is I'm 27, pretty porky (size 18) no bum or thighs but big waist and fat back (uuurggghhh). No dress sense whatsoever. Going away this weekend so went shopping yesterday and came back with an oversized brown pullover and an umbrella (sadly not a joke). Going to try again this afternoon can somebody tell me what to buy please?

There are some beautiful tunics around that flatter all figures. Wear with boot cut trousers or jeans.

Agree with tunics - Principles has lots of good stuff in atm, how about something like this - are you well-endowed in the norks dept or not?

Hi Try an empire fitted tunic. and some wide legged trousers. You need to balance yourself if you have a wide back. By empire I mean that it has a band or seam under the bustline.

jackie no that top is lovely

Thanks for your messages. Can I just check though that tops hanging from under my bust aren't going to make me look 6 months pregnant?! Is there a trick to choosing these (tried some yesterday and they just made me look fatter.) Also has anyone got any ideas for a jacket? Desperately need one but need something that isn't too smart or casual and am always scared of ones that are shortish as think they make me look even more top heavy.

I bet they didn't make you look fatter, you really need to get a second opinion in the changing rooms when you're trying something new for youself or you'll talk your way out of it.

V necks and lowish scoop necks on tops, never polo.
Re jacket, you're right don't go for anything that ends above your hips. Unfortunately many of the nice cheap fitted jackets on the high street are all a bit short (I'm 5'8" and busty so they look like 80s crop tops on me.) Have a look in Dorothy Perkins tall section.
