Jaeger gone bust

Just read in sunday times business that jaeger has gone belly up and likely to close all their stores. Will be online and concessions only. Can't say I'm surprised as they had permanent sales on but a bit or a shame as thought they were good quality if a bit overpriced (when at full price).

.. I thought it was over the bridge , not in the main square

I was really upset to hear this too as I have 3 jaeger coats and quite a few jumpers which due to dieting won't fit me next winter - I can't buy replacements yet as I don't know what size I'll be by then!

Laska it used to be on the same side as HMV, Fred Perry, etc., but it could well have moved since I was last there - it's been a while. I noticed there have been a few other changes so it wouldn't surprise me.

The Jaeger outlet shop at Bicester Village closed in January. Perhaps others have also closed?

Bluntess you have just summed up how I feel about Jaeger. Yes, it's old fashioned, yes it can be mumsy but my GOD when they get it right you can get some lovely, lovely stuff which you wear to death.

Like the navy knitted silk sleeveless top which I wore under every single work outfit for about 15 years until it literally fell to pieces.

Or the grey flannel trousers which I wash and wear on fast rotation because they are the only pair of the eleventy million pairs of work trousers I own that I actually like and feel comfy in.
