I'm thinking about getting a tattoo

If you knew me, I'd be the last person you'd think of getting a tattoo but...i keep looking at tiny tattoos on pinterest and other blogs and I'm really tempted.

What if I don't like it once it's done?

Will it hurt?

How do you choose a good tattoo place?

Will everyone think I'm having a mid life crisis?

Nancy91, let me start by showing my sheer awe of you having 7 hours of work done on your feet - Christ alive, my friend who tattooed the top of my foot for 90 minutes got every sort of abuse going! It was HORRIBLE.

Now that's dealt with, OP, if you're not sure you'll be happy with it in a year's time, don't do it. As a PP also said, tiny tattoos have a tendency to 'blow out' - the Pinterest tattoos you've seen will either be fresh, or a few weeks old. Very fine linework on places that are exposed to constant movement or friction (hands, feet) will probably drop out.

I've read more about blowout now. I'm more nervous. Some of the pics look awful!

Would something less delicate with thicker lines be less likely to blow out?

Thanks BeautyGoesToBenidorm Grin I think my pain tolerance is a bit odd as I'm fairly modified but I thought the piercing at the top of my ear was excruciating - so many people have it and say they barely felt it!

OP, I would take inspiration from the Pinterest photos but remember that no good tattoo artist will exactly copy someone else's work, so it might come out slightly different. I wouldn't personally go for a white ink tattoo as someone suggested because the colour can change over time.

Let us know what you pick please!

Don't worry OP, you aren't likely to get blowout if you go to a good artist that knows how deep / what angle to put the needle in. And let it heal without touching it all the time.

Thanks nancy that's reassuring.

And good point re tattoo artist not wanting to copy. I'll have a bit of think about anyone who might be able to sketch something out for me.
