BIL is getting married at the end of March. He is 30, future wife is 25, & all their friends are young & trendy.

They are getting married in a register office, with a reception in a village hall + buffet.

I have absolutely NO idea what to wear & of course don't want to be mutton dresed as lamb

I am 38, 5ft 3, size 10 & breastfeeding. Was thinking of wearing this wrap dress from Wallis

with a dark green cashmere wrap & knee length camel boots. But as I am thinking of wearing this on Mothers Day, am concerned that it's not dressy enough ??

I'd prefer to wear something like this Hobbs flippy skirt combo but can't seem to find anything else like it anywhere.

Much prefer the first option. I went to a possh do at the weekend and most of the young trendy's and rich were wearing similar outfits to the first. No hats just fascinators.

Good luck

i love the wallis dress and what a bargain! camel boots sound nice but i think might be too hot especially in doors and if there is dancing. maybe new shoes required?

I like the print of the Hobbs skirt better than that of the dress but the dress would mean that you don't need to faff around finding things to match. If you go for the dress I'd be inclined to dress it up a bit with lovely shoes instead of boots, so that it feels a bit different to Mother's Day. M & S have some teal suede shoes that fasten with a bead and are lovely - I can't do links but they are under "formal shoes". They also have a couple of green pairs.

..unfortunately I didn't buy the dress at the reduced price..grr !

I'm not great with shoes - but do love those M&S ones (eeek at 7cm!) - I've got some unworn camel Nine West shoes I could wear...but what about tights ?

I've also bought a Coast dress, cream with wide straps with coral & khaki flowers & a khaki ribbon at the waist, not sure about this one, but had a 20% voucher & DH was buying ! I guess I could wear a fascinator with that, but again no idea about what to wear on my feet...

I know exactly that coast dress you describe - I saw it today and love it. It's quite a funky design. I am the same height and dress size as you. Chose not to go for it as I have broad shoulders and I think it wouldn't suit me but it may well be great for you.

Oooh ref the Coast dress, I've got broad shoulders too...perhaps I should give it a miss ?

Thanks for the link to the Kew dress - unfortunately I'm no good with the fall from the bust style. I've got a long back so they don't suit me : - (
