Your best mascara for huge non clumpy lashes under £20?

PollyPerky · 25/03/2017 07:37

I love Lancome Hypnose and get through loads- a tube lasts me about 3 months max.

But at £25 a time it's not cheap.

I've read good things about a new Max Factor one (think the tube is green and black) and some Rimmel.

The thing I like about Hypnose is you can build it up and it doesn't go spiky or make your lashes brittle.

So- my eyelashes are stumpy and I need them longer and thicker.

Clinique High Impact is ok (had free samples) but seems to flake off.

Not impressed with any of the Loreal ones (unless there are new ones out) , Maybelline makes lashes stiff, Soap and Glory was just useless, so any ideas?

By a mile hypnose and they're real

imjessie · 25/03/2017 22:10

I always comment on mascara threads and always get ignored but natural collection lash length is fab and only £1.99!!!

OverthinkingSpartacus · 25/03/2017 22:20

MaxFactor Masterpiece is my fave after they're real by benefit £25 in boots ATM)
Boots currently have a promo where if you spend £15 on max factor products you get a freew natural make box. Inside it has the max factor masterpiece mascara, a blusher and lip finitely lipgloss. Might be worth spending the £15 on two max factor products for the free box. You'll have spent a fiver more than the mascara would cost on its own but you're getting at least extra four products for that fiver.

I buy Lancome Hypnose Drama personally, ........off eBay. Would never use anything else.

JoeMaplin · 25/03/2017 22:22

Wilko's £2.60. Seriously. I've recently spent a lot of time reading beauty blogs and finding recommendations for good dupes and am finding the wilkos one equally as good as the £24 one I used to buy! Their primer is also supposed to be ace but it's not a well kept secret and is constantly out of stock.....

Itsnothingoriginal · 25/03/2017 22:23

Imjessie - the Natural Collection mascara is fab!

imjessie · 25/03/2017 22:45

Oh yay , I'm not the only one using it! 😁😁

OutandIn · 25/03/2017 22:50

I too use the £1.99 Boots Natural Collection mascara!Smile

bluebump · 25/03/2017 22:51

The natural collection one is really good but I also like Max Factor 2000 calorie or L'Oreal million lashes which comes in a lovely gold tube.

creamcheeseandlox · 26/03/2017 18:51

Maybelline lash sensational

cauliwobbles · 26/03/2017 19:00

Another Hypnose fan. Have tried hundreds over the years and nothing comes close.

Doobigetta · 26/03/2017 19:18

Max Factor Masterpiece Max

Note3 · 27/03/2017 20:24

Ooh I'm gonna try the natural collection mascara thanks. I use their blusher which is 1.99 and goes on a treat so I'm up for trying the mascara. Thanks

Interested in wilko too as didn't know they did make up!

I've been singing praises of the same brand cream blusher in a tube, natural glow 1,99. No-one listensGrin

Might have to try the mascara now!

LesisMiserable · 27/03/2017 23:50

L'oreal Superstar double ended mascara is ace.

SlightlyTired · 28/03/2017 00:05

Clinique Lash Power Flutter-to-Full is my go to. Everything else ends up migrating onto my lids by mid morning. It's a tubing formula so it comes off with warm water in satisfying bits, but Does Not Smudge during the day. Goes on really well. I briefly dallied with a Chanel waterproof but it was absolutely awful - so difficult to apply without caking and spiking.

BanjoStarz · 28/03/2017 00:15

I've just discovered a Primark one that's at least as good as They're Real - I actually think it's better as you get more volumous lashes. I've had quite a few people ask what I'm using when I'm wearing it.

It's comes in a gold tube and costs two pounds...worth a try!

mintmagnummm · 28/03/2017 06:39

I like natural collection too Grin

countrygirl55 · 28/03/2017 06:51

My mascaras of choice are Diorshow or They're Real, but if I'm a bit short I like No17 Waterproof; less than a fiver and won't smudge or flake. Just doesn't last as long.

MargotsDevil · 28/03/2017 07:31

Bobbi Brown intensifying long wear. It's bullet proof!

thethoughtfox · 28/03/2017 07:43

Diorshow Iconic. The waterproof one kept on while I was in the jungle on honeymoon . It makes your eyelashes outrageously long. YSL False Lash Effect is also very goo. If I heat my eyelash curlers then curl my eyelashes at the base of them and apply either of these people always comment on them.

If you have oily eyelids, like I do, Hypnose mascara smudges under the eyes. Did not work for me at all.

MinesaPinot · 28/03/2017 09:22

After years using Lancôme Definicils I was a bit short of funds one day, went up our local chemists and bought Max Factor Masterpiece Max and have never looked back. Doesn't clump, doesn't flake and makes my lashes look really long. In fact the only mascara I can wear without having to wear eyeliner as well to boost it up (even had to do that with the Lancôme).

Agree with Overthinking - see if you can pick up a couple of things for £15 from Max Factor in Boots and pick up the gift which has got the full size mascara in it to try.

Mrs9C · 28/03/2017 09:29

Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme is just over the £20 mark, but it's a bigger tube, and it's lasted me a year! I absolutely love it.

Clarabell33 · 28/03/2017 12:23

I used to use Maybelline Great Lash all the time and loved it, still do but I found a Collection 2000 hot pink tube in my bathroom (think DM must have given it to me) and tried it... have now bought it a further three times. £2.99 I think. For an everyday mascara it's great, and it has not shifted in the rain nor at the gym. I don't like to build it up though so can't say if it's any good for that, nor have I ever had a properly expensive mascara so not much to compare it to! (is it worth me getting one or will it be a waste of money/ruin the cheap ones for me??)

SuperFlyHigh · 28/03/2017 13:04

Don't know if they still do it but maybelline think In bronze tube with argan or Moroccan oil is very good, brush is more rubber so applies better.

Don't get loreal navy - nice colour but awful coverage and brush!
