What makeup do I need for my face?

I've decided that foundation and powder looks too cakey, I can't get a mineral powder foundation in the right shade, tinted moisturiser leaves my face shiny. All I want is something light coverage that looks like I have skin on my face rather than make up. Does this exist?

BB cream or in the summer I just use Clinique beauty flash balm.

I find leaving ten minutes between moisturiser and bb cream, follow with bare minerals or mac studio fix powder, and the most important step which is mac prep and prime fix + this spray delivers a mist of moisture to the skin, smells Devine and softens and hydrates the skin while absorbing any excess powder or clagginess, it is amazing I can't recommend it enough :)

Are you using a decent moisturiser ten mins before applying the foundation/tinted moisturiser? This makes a massive difference to me.

I'm almost 36, have tried a few products over the past 12 months but always go back to Estee Lauder Day Wear oil-free creme (spf25) and their Double Wear Light (the normal one is far too thick and cakey). Maybe pop to a counter to try? I always re-buy when gift time is on at Boots or Debenhams, so that I get a makeup bag full of goodies too.

I mix two shades of bareMinerals to get the right colour. Could work if you would like a powder foundation. I tried Lily Lilo but I think the BM coverage is better.
