I fear the answer may be yes

Frumpy and I say that as someone who sometimes comes perilously close. The fit is boxy and baggy. There is colour but it manages to be drab.

LouKout · 13/03/2017 12:26

Depends on what you buy and what you wear it with

ScoobyDoosTinklyLaugh · 13/03/2017 14:40

Yes.

Nothing wrong with frumpy though, be frumpy with pride if that's what you're into.

MorrisZapp · 13/03/2017 14:42

Some of its ok but it's the same price as Fat Face which annoys me.

prettywhiteguitar · 13/03/2017 14:49

Ooh I had a great pair of jeans from there which I must have bought about 8 years ago now. They were my favourites. They're but cheaper than fat face surely??? God fat face is expensive without codes or in the sale

user1484578224 · 13/03/2017 15:50

I am ancient and frumpy so have no wish to up the frump.
Their tops look inviting but are gross on me. Same with White Stuff. i fancy myself as Bohemian Art teacher but just look like a saddo.

How about Monsoon? They do some boho type clothes. Or get inspired by Tory Burch and try to imitate on a budget.

Nannplum666 · 13/03/2017 16:00

I got their black Chelsea boots October last year and they are the most comfortable boots ever and I have hardly worn anything else all winter (shoe wise). I actually went to see if they still had them and they all sold out! Would buy a back up pair in a heart beat!
Some of the stuff is too print heavy for me but I do have a nice hoodie from there as well.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 14/03/2017 13:49

I like it but as a 40yr old plus sized mum to three I'm hardly cutting edge and I really don't care. I wear what I like and is comfortable.

I'd look ridiculous in leather leggings and a Rolling Stones t shirt or other 'cool mum' gear.

AnotheBloodyChinHair · 14/03/2017 14:54

Very

heateallthebuns · 14/03/2017 14:59

Yes. All a bit 90s surfer vibe.

user1484578224 · 14/03/2017 16:29

I saw a young person buying a couple of tops that would suit her. For me a no no though....so where to go?

My OH has some of their pants and I thought they were pretty cool (but tatty now though)

AgathaF · 14/03/2017 19:29

I think they're generally quite frumpy, although they have the odd nice thing in. It depends what sort of style you like though. I see people wearing Fat Face etc, looking nice, but if I wear it I instantly age about 10 years and lose all shape.

MaQueen · 14/03/2017 19:45

Mantaray are the fashion equivalent of the Ford Mondeo...just sayin' Wink

verywellspoken · 14/03/2017 19:50

Just had a look, their jeans look like a great alternative to the current spray on fashion, but most of the tops/dresses looked potentially quite frumpy.

NennyNooNoo · 14/03/2017 20:15

Oops, I think I must be frumpy! I have some Mantaray tops and a couple of summer skirts which I really like. I've always thought if them as a cheaper version of the White Stuff. Nice prints.

TWOBANANAS · 15/03/2017 06:18

I must be a frump as I'm currently sat in a Mantaray dress. I've also never been complimented on my clothes until I started wearing Mantaray so all my mates must like frumpy too.

ChocolateSherberts2017 · 15/03/2017 06:25

Would a stylist session help you find what you're looking for? They can suggest styles and colours that suits you, lots of department shops do them. You might be pleasantly surprised by what they suggest.

Ladyofthecanyon 🤣
MaQueen 😂
I've just googled Mantaray and now I'm stuck in a 1990s time warp!

iseenodust · 15/03/2017 08:21

Not sure what a Boho art teacher exactly wears but this floral tshirt and less floral top are from the back catalogue.

user1484578224 · 15/03/2017 16:43

i went to a personal shopper a few times but feel highly sheepish about returning 2stone heavier.

more ho ho than bo ho

Lady of the Canyon seems to feature tall skinny things modeling tiny bits of suede.
