ive brought a ivory wedding dress. It is a-line and has a tight fitting corset on top. Its a very pretty dress with a lace overlay with embroided flowers. Im wearing a veil and tiara. What other jewellery should i wear just thinking of a simple necklace and earings-i think my tiara

No idea, you need to keep an eye out for Cod.

tassis · 04/03/2007 12:52

i like pearls

liquidclocks · 04/03/2007 12:54

Definitely keep an eye out for cod but sounds a bit like my wedding dress and I wore a neat (not choker but base of neck) fitting simple pearl necklace with little drop pearl earrings - I think it's easy to overdo it on wedding jewellery. Go and try loads on and see what you like best - I ended up buying 7/8 different sets before deciding !

I'd definitely try to echo the tiara (ie, gold, diamante, diamonds), but in a very simple way. Agree with liquidclocks that it's easy to overdo things.

yeah its a pretty dress but with alot of lace embroidery plus its ivory. If it was white satin i could of gone for silver sparkly stuff. I think i need to go in and look at my tiara and match it with that ive completely fogtton what it looks like.Bullocks i think ive picked a hard dress to match. A gold necklace would be too much wouldnt it-i think it needs to be pearls or something

I'd guess a simple gold chain with something sparkly on it, and some sparkly earrings, maybe slightly dangly, depending on what you're doing with your hair, would work. Does your tiara have any particular shapes in it? I mean like flower shapes, scrolls, um, circles, whatever. Might be nice, though not essential, to echo those if you could.

as little as possible IMO, especially with a dress with detail and a tiara - when you try them on together you may find you need very little more. Use some jewellery you already have in different shapes / styles / colours to have a go.

I wore a really quite plain dress with a short pearl necklace and tiny white-gold studs - the flowers, bridesmaids, hairthings, affectionate aunts etc were quite enough decoration for me... but then I am a renowned minimalist .

Is your dress strapless? If it is I would go for a necklace, if it's got a higher or illusion neckline then I would get some pretty earrings and some beautiful pins for your hair. X
