We don't do satin waistcoats, pink or golfing type jumpers. Verbaudet has nothing, where do I look???? Want to be able to wear the clothes again. How smart do kids have to be for these things???

I woudl have thought a smart shirt and chino type trousers. Is it really really posh?

I've recommended the cotton/linen beige suit that Next have before. It looks really cool - I'm getting it for ds for a wedding but equally good for a christening. Having said that, at our dds' christenings our friends' dcs turned up in everything from party dresses to shorts and t-shirts, so I would go for something your dss feel comfortable in and that is good for the time of yr.

I'd say go as smart as you want, really - Monsoon have some stuff - would you object to non-satin waistcoats? With a shirt and some smart-ish trousers? Or a slipover/tank top thingy? (If they're small-ish, you might need the 0-3 sizes, click on the link on the left hand side)

Whose christening?

Theirs or are they guests? If guests I would just do nice trsrs and a nice top/shirt that they will wear again.

Wow that was quick!!! Love that elephant waistcoat but a tad pricey. Yes I'm thinking chinos, smart shirt and a wooly waistcoat would be good, don't think it'll be that posh. Was wondering if the JoJo Maman wooly waistcoats would be ok????? Seen any others for around£10????? Many thanks

Yep, that's the one! (thank goodness for people who can do links!)

mila - I have a nearly 3yo boy and I woudl just go with the shirt/ smart trousers as my Ds woudl never wear the jacket again. But I think its very cute. So if you have teh ££££ or have some summer wedding invitations coming up , then go for it! Two will be twince as cute as one

would just put them in something semi smart but comfortable. When my girls were christened last week children wore a variety of things.Only one who was very smart was our son who is 3 but we wanted him to feel as dressed up as the girls.
