Fifty quid to spend in John Lewis - what should i buy?

I have a fifty quid voucher for JL and the beauty hall is calling my name! I am tempted by loads of things but I need to apply some rational thought here so I need your help.

I have dry and dehydrated skin, fair rosy colouring, dark hair and blue eyes, age 37. I definitely don't need perfume or foundation. I'm in the market for lipstick, lipgloss, blusher, brow products and maybe eyeshadow. Any suggestions?

I would be tempted by the lipsticks by also blusher. Have you checked out HourGlass? The blushers are gorgeous. I have a couple of Chanel Lipsticks & never been disappointed. I have the Les Beiges foundation & CC cream. Again fantastic products but I would be tempted to ask for a demo/sample.

No experience of any of those, sorry, but my eldest dd really likes Charlotte T lipstick.

Hourglass foundation - it is truly amazing. Would not bother with Tilbury. As a total beauty junkie I am astounded by how much Hourglass astounds me - thought I had seen it all... brilliant products. If you like red lipstick have a look at their Icon shade. It is (I think) a massive leap up from the Lauder/Lancôme type offerings.

Sorry - just re-read that you don't need foundation. You think you don't but just give the Hourglass one a little go while you are testing their amazing lippies.

I think Hourglass is online only with JL, like Charlotte Tilbury. Not sure if OP is going instore or online.

My voucher is online only but I honestly wouldn't buy a beauty product without trying in real life so that may rule out Hourglass sadly

Yes I have 3, Dynamic, Intense Nude & Envious. A sound investment. They go on even, colour pay off is great, long wearing in my experience. Satisfying click of the tube.

They sound fab Bubbles. I love a clicky tube

I'd go for a moisturiser. Lancôme.

I have loads of Estée Lauder lipsticks. In pure colour, I have intense nude, insatiable ivory and baby cashmere. All great. Very creamy, go on easily, stay true to their colour and dont dry my lips at all. I use Estée Lauder lip liner with them all. Rose goes with intense nude and baby cashmere. Nude liner goes with insatiable ivory. Spice lip liner hides with all the shades towards the brown end of the spectrum.

I've got Sweet Miss and I love it. It's the only look I wore for weeks! 😂

I'd buy a good brush or two, esp. if you cannot try things out.

Brushes make a big difference.

Having said that, I did buy two at Cassart.
