Casual shoes help please

I'm after a pair of really comfortable casual shoes - need more cushioning than my Converse but not full on sporty like my Nike Roshe. Want to wear them with skinnies (full length or rolled up) and with jersey midi skirts and bare legs when it's warmer. Something that's not so casual that I couldn't wear them for something like a pub lunch or a day sightseeing.

Any recs, please? Not Skechers. Even better if they are children's ones, so cheaper! Grin

Not everyone's cup of tea but what about these KG ones?

www.kurtgeiger.com/palyla-red-suede-nine-west

They have quite a few trainers in their sale that look nice.

RemusLupinsChristmasMovie · 21/02/2017 19:56

Not fond of the Liberty ones (love Liberty print but think that in trainer version it's bordering on toddler-ish again, or at least on my small feet) and don't like the KG ones. Will have a look at Geox.

Sorry it would have been useful if I had said what they were! Adidas gazelles as you have worked out! They are really comfy. I have had converse, stan smiths, nbs and ash and the gazelles are by far the comfiest they have a lump of cushioning under your arch and they feel like clouds!

RemusLupinsChristmasMovie · 21/02/2017 20:53

Thanks, Sham. They are v nice.

Quite like these Gola ones

I quite like these hideous Zara ones. Am seriously considering them. Or these ones. Well, leather versions of these. I know, I may have taken leave of my senses. But I really like them. This week Are they a no, Remus?

Failing that, I like the adidas gazelles in navy.

mewkins · 21/02/2017 21:39

I have some nike internationalists in burgundy which are great. Shuh and office have lots of colours.

RemusLupinsChristmasMovie · 21/02/2017 21:42

Zara links just go to the main Zara page.

Oh sorry Remus. I'll try again. Ver annoying when that happens.

These ones or these. Well a leather equivalent.

JohnCheese · 22/02/2017 11:43

ffs
here and
here
Hope they work this time

I think there's lots of leather equivalents about. Dune.

RemusLupinsChristmasMovie · 22/02/2017 11:50

Sorry, John - no joy. I'll have a look on their website and see if anything catches my eye.

You just need to click on 'Go' on the Zara link when it goes to main page - shoes will then show.

RemusLupinsChristmasMovie · 22/02/2017 12:09

Thanks, Edith.

John - sorry but neither of those are for me.

Remus how would you feel about leopard print loafers?....
A pair of very soft velvet ones that are extremely comfortable may have fell in to my bag this morning.

Laquila · 22/02/2017 13:39

Supergas FTW. I have the lace-ups bit those laceless skater shoe-type ones on the previous page are gorgeous.

Also like the New Balance ones in nude that were linked to - my cousin has them in khaki and says they're very comfy.

I do empathise though, Remus - I find it hard to wear remotely sporty trainers as I am known for being very unsporty and feel like a bit of a fraud. I used to wear lovely tan leather loafers from Zara but they'd look wrong on me now. Basically I want til it's warm enough to dust off my Birkenstocks (March) and that's me set for summer!

JohnCheese · 22/02/2017 15:03

Aw I like them! I know somewhere within me they're fairly hideous but today I like them.
Will watch this thread for these perfect shoes.
I feel in my bones that this thread will run and run...

moggle · 22/02/2017 15:07

I tried on these canvas lace ups in Fat face yesterday, they come in a few other colours too and also vans-style slip ons. Nothing groundbreaking (although I really liked the colours) BUT they have memory foam soles so are ridiculously comfy. I went in for boots which I bought so didn't buy the trainers too, but I will be going back for a pair .once the weather warms up a little

carrie74 · 22/02/2017 15:43

I wear my Stan Smiths with skirts as well as jeans/trousers, and would happily dress the same for other old school trainers like the Gazelles etc if I owned them.

RemusLupinsChristmasMovie · 22/02/2017 18:28

Nope to loafers - I am so not a loafer sort of person.

The Gazelles and Puma suede are winning so far. Will report back after I've tried on.
