Where can I buy ski pants/sallopettes if I'm quite fat?

A size 14 and 5'2, most of my weight is thighs and tummy which just hasn't gone away since I had the dcs.

Decathlon today had ladies sallopettes in s/m/l/xl and even the xl wouldn't go anywhere near closing across my stomach (but baggy as fuck on the legs)

They all just seemed to have tiny waistbands!

Please tell me I can go sledging with my dcs without having to get soaking wet Sad

I'm on the plump-side and now have men's salopettes. Don't dismiss them out of hand. They fit, their comfortable and you can't tell any difference. The only think is they were too long and I had to turn them up. Be comfortable!

DPotter · 03/02/2017 20:18

They're comfortable - sorry!

Decathlon sizes are weird.

Mountain Warehouse seem to be cut for people with shapely figures. Even at my tiniest Decathlon didn't work for me because I have a big difference between waist and hips but Mountain Warehouse leaves space for me to have an enormous mountain lunch breathe.

NapQueen · 03/02/2017 20:24

Glad to hear decathlon sizing is weird I nearly burst into tears in the fitting room.

I will try mens thanks for tip!!

Im bigger than you and I got some from mountain warehouse and they were a much better fit than others I tried. They mirrored my normal size if you know what I mean. They were good and warm, we were in down to -12 and I was as warm as toast.

NapQueen · 03/02/2017 20:27

Thanks for the MW tip, I'll pop into my local one over the next few days.

As pp has said you can't tell the difference there's also Mountain Warehouse

I picked all mine up in Aldi and I'm an 18. Not sure if they'll have them in at the mo though.

EagleIsland · 03/02/2017 20:37

Online try Carhartt or 509 brands

Someone mentioned upthread white rock ski pants.. 8 years ago when I first went skiing at size 12-14 (2 stone lighter than now) I had to buy white rock size 16 and they were small.. I think their sizes not too generous! I buy Dare2be sallopettes.. about £25 off eBay new with tags. I've got 12, 14,16 and 18! Grin. I'm currently a size 16 but just went away skiing in my 18's (despite my best efforts to diet! I also find men's ski jackets much better for me at the moment than women's. I buy a men's small. Generally, I find all women's 'sportswear' comes up small.
