I've bought the Keratin Kits box from Amazon in the past but the usual one is no longer available - there's something that looks similar by Cocochoco on Amazon and Ebay but different size and price. If anyone has bought recently would you mind sharing where from? I'd love to hear about other good brands or even non-permanent blow dry sprays that work too - thanks!

I've patched on to so many potential life changing hair things over the years, really hoping this one works!!

Funnyonion17 · 10/02/2017 09:08

Heidi is that an affiliate link?

Twiterati · 10/02/2017 11:23

I can confirm that for me the cocochoco stuff is the same as Keratin Kits. I have used this twice in the last few months whereas I always used the keratin kits before and can't tell the difference, I just thought I would try a different one. Smells and looks the same and has same results.

AgathaF · 10/02/2017 12:49

Thanks for posting that twiterati. Will order a pot of that before they run out too!

specialsubject · 10/02/2017 14:42

Sweat contains water and will fuzz up your hair. The week after expensive hair straightening means idle princess behaviour. It is a bore but worth it, just make sure you explain as it does make you appear a bit of an arse..

heidipi · 10/02/2017 16:21

Thanks Twiterati am going to do it Monday night, will be wearing a hat to cover the grease by Thurs!

Funny I just shared the page with the stuff from Amazon, I don't work for the company or sell anything.

Thanks special I probably should've thought more about the gym before booking it! I shall stay safely indoors.

Good luck heidi

annawoolfworries · 11/02/2017 15:41

I have bought a kit from a hairdresser supply shop. Should last a year as has 6 applications in it. Cost £107. Hope it's as good as the one from Amazon I've been using the last couple of years.

BusterTheBulldog · 11/02/2017 16:00

What sulphate free shampoos to people use / recommend?

whatonaschoolnight · 11/02/2017 22:56

Typical. Just as I find something that tames my hair.
Buster I use this shampoo.

heidipi · 16/02/2017 15:36

Hi Buster - fine I think, it seemed exactly the same as the old stuff, identical pot but different label.

I did it on Monday night so am now at the desperate to wash it stage but holding on til tomorrow - I'll be looking smashing at the DC's parent evening later then!

How did it turn out? Mine's definitely due...

user1487015199 · 25/02/2017 11:56

Do the kits you buy really work, I've been looking on amazon for about a year, my hair is naturally wavy/bushy also are they easy to do yourself?

I rang a few hairbdressers but they cost over 100, I'm not sure if it would be an investment or waste of money

heidipi · 25/02/2017 22:03

tea turned out fine, hurrah! One week on and I've just blow-dried it every other day, no straightening at all, and it's stayed smooth, even survived all the rain/drizzle/wind without needing fixing. Didn't recoil from my reflection in the lift and even had a couple of nice comments. Hope it lasts a couple of months at least but will definitely do it again. I'm using baby shampoo (Paddy's Bathroom - no sodium chloride and under 2 quid at the moment) and no conditioner but it's only chin length.

User yes it works and easy to do but my hair isn't long. Mine isn't properly wavy, just thick and pouffy but from the reviews it does sound like it works.

A PP mentioned Groupon offers for salon treatments though, which I might try sometime.

Oh no gutted, the kit off Amazon was the only thing that tamed my hair.

Can you let us know what the results of the other product is like?

Looked at the instructions and the only difference I can see is after the application you leave on for 10mins as apposed to 30mins.

Bugger

heidipi · 26/02/2017 18:42

purple panic not it seems to be exactly the same! I left it on for 20 mins (couldn't decide so went for the middle) but I'm sure it's no different at all. My only concern is the possible running out of Keratin issue but for now can still get it at least Grin

purplefishy · 26/02/2017 19:48

Heid that's great to know thanks. That stuff has got quite a distinct smell hasn't it so if it smells the same that's a good sign.

Good call for 20 that's what I would do.

I'm due my next application next month so will grab a pot soon and may stock up. If I would of known tbh I would of got one of there huge hair dresser bottles as I had such amazing results the first time all my friends got it and I ended up doing their hair too.

user1487015199 · 18/03/2017 19:12

Hello,
I have just received my cocochoco
And read the instructions,

How to people
Manage to leave it 72 hours? And would any less still work? I also work in healthcare so you need to put it up? Would this cause a kink?

Also does it work with ghd's

ihatethecold · 18/03/2017 19:17

How often do you need to use this product.

My hair has changed so much ch since I turned 40. It us d to be so straight now it's wavy at the back and I hate it.

Hubb · 18/03/2017 19:36

Im so glad i saw this thread! I had no idea you could get the kits at home! Have never dared try it at the hairdressers as i was worried about the imbetween stage..

Does it grow out and leave a frizzy top by the scalp or is it more like the whole effect wears off gradually?

How do you dry it after? Still blowdry and straighten and it just looks extra smooth or...no appliances required!?

TIA!

AgathaF · 19/03/2017 04:45

user1487015199 I quite often wash it off after 48 hours. It still works, but maybe doesn't last quite as long.

piddleypower · 02/05/2017 15:43

Hi straight haired people. I was a regular user of Keratin Kits.

Looks like even the cocochoco kit linked to upthread has also been discontinued now. Its not available anyway.

Anyone know of another alternative? I am looking at this but not sure it is the same thing, and its three times the price!!

Getting worried about how few anyone had in stock - have the ingredients been made illegal or something?
