Believe it or not I got mine in Tesco. Exactly as you described and I get loads of compliments when I wear them.

@toopeoply what's the sizing like on the Leigh jeans?

I have some from GAP that fit that exact description. Skinny, but not too skinny. High waisted, dark grey, no ripped/weird bits, nice and comfy with a bit of stretch.

French connection? I love their skinnies and have a grey pair... possibly a bit lighter than you want though.

I have a pair and love them. Super soft and high waisted.

I like All Saints Stilt - the "washed black" is a lovely charcoal grey.

Got some in H&M late summer - don't know whether they're still in. I live in them! And waist quite high too (ideal for my stupid long body that all t-shirts are too short for)

Red herring Holly... liked them so much I bought blue ones too. Soft and stretchy but don't really go baggy at knees. No "hold you in" effect though: comfy as leggings but with proper jean seams, zip etc.
