Hush. Shit quality or is it me?

I bought a knitted dress from Hush last winter. I've only washed it once, and then put it away until now.

I've worn it today for the first ime after being washed. It is absolutely covered in bobbles and fluff. I mean really bad. I look like some kind of furball.

Is this what all their stuff is like?

I think they are mixed. Bought knitwear in the sale last year and now wouldn't touch it at any price. me&em have AMAZING sales and knitwear is lovely but only if you are tall.

Hush basics are lovely. I have 2 long length long sleeved ts I live in and they are good as new. The normal t-shirts I bought in the sample sale and maybe they aren't the best quality but the look so chic, it's hard to get a good cut on a t shirt. I love their black blazer it is a wardrobe staple and it wasn't that expensive. Quality-wise the cut and fabric is lovely.

The harem pants are thick and cosy. The black ones have faded a bit but I don't mind. Other trousers are always too short for me and the skirts are generally indecent!

On customer service I returned a bracelet that broke after a week and they sent a new one quickly and were lovely. I wonder if it can be patchy because they have expanded rapidly?

I think their knitwear is shocking. My longline cardigan has just hit the bin as it looks like a rag and has bobbled so badly I would be embarassed to wear it even on my own at home. It's about a year old and I haven't worn it more than once a week or so (less recently) and it's been washed carefully too. I am a bit cross and thought about a belated review - but this feels just as cathartic. Other knits have been returned or not lasted.
Sizing can be really hit or miss.
Returns are processed very slowly too ie the max time provided on their website.

I also have a couple of long line t shirts which are fantastic and 2 shirts which I love but wash etc very carefully as I am not sure how robust they are.
However I love their styling so aim to buy (and usually return) enough to keep their brochures coming for styling ideas - buying the clothing elsewhere obviously!

heateallthebuns · 13/01/2017 18:40

I got a tshirt from them in summer,it's really thin and has holes in seams now.

LaPampa · 13/01/2017 20:29

I have 2 pairs of their jeans which I really like. Also pyjamas. I think their quality has gone down recently though - I've some older skirts and trousers which seemed to last ages. I was also disappointed they wouldn't honour the referral system

fauxhito · 13/01/2017 21:18

I love the cut of the tshirts so much so that I've been tempted to have them copied and made by a tailor in better fabric!

CointreauVersial · 13/01/2017 21:28

Hush is over-hyped and over-rated. I have had the odd nice thing (including two items I picked up in the charity shop) but generally I would say they are not as good as they think they are.

I would never pay full price.

YouMeanYouForgotCranberriesToo · 13/01/2017 21:46

I got two t-shirts from them and one got two holes in after 2 washes. Luckily it's dark grey and I wear it over dark high waisted jeans so you can't see, but it's put me off trying anything else.

NoJimmyProtested · 13/01/2017 22:34

I cant really afford Hush but i love the way they style their clothes in the catalogue. I look at all their looks and then attempt to recreate it from H&M. Dont feel like i'm missing out so much now!

Hohumming · 13/01/2017 22:36

They seem to compromise quality for excellent styling. I have a number of clothes including some bought in their most recent sale, maybe ten or twelve items in total. I like the style of their clothes very much but have sent back more items than I kept. I agree they are way over priced, the sale prices are about right I think ie if they were the RRP.

PidgeyfinderGeneral · 13/01/2017 22:39

I've only just discovered Hush, but I have both colours in the Adele jumper which I would wear every day if I could and have just bought a ruched skirt.

HesSpartacus · 13/01/2017 22:46

They are very mixed - currently wearing the cotton / cashmere polo neck, which is wearing fantastically. Likewise, I had a coral and cream linen mix jumper for years. My husband hated it but it refused to die! The long t-shirts are fab, too, as are the (expensive) leather leggings.

The Nina cardigan however... one wear and it looked like something from the rag basket. I am very wary of their knitwear, and also their viscose summer trousers, which look great online but are horrible in the flesh. I couldn't bear to touch them (I have fabric issues).

LokisLover · 14/01/2017 07:36

I've got a few things from hush and agree their knitwear bobbles sooooooo badly and looks scrappy within a day. I've not had this with other places like cos, & other stories or white co. Shape tends to go too. Also agree about delivery and return prices.

I'd rather spend a little more on somewhere like Baukjen, 6 years on and my jersey and knitwear still looks like new.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 14/01/2017 09:04

I've just sent a complaint email about it. 3 wears and it looks like a rag😡

The long vests and tshirts are fine. Everything else I've bought has been rubbish.

PrimalLass · 14/01/2017 15:37

I lie - the pjs are lovely.

dirtyprettything · 14/01/2017 15:46

Love their ruched skirts and wear them to death. They are faded and stretched though after just a few months

Hohumming · 14/01/2017 17:24

FirmerlyKnownAs Let us know the outcome. From what I have seen they will thank you for letting them know and will let their team know. and that will be that
