Please help me find a pair of shoes for this dress

Hi, I'm going to a works do very soon and got this dress m.houseoffraser.co.uk/Little+Mistress+Beaded+top+maxi+dress/212868131,default,pd.html
I haven't got a clue how to be stylish and I usually wear trainers or flat shoes as I'm nearly 5.11" and don't like towering over people. All the nice going out shoes I can find have huge heels and I won't be able to walk in them.
I'm a shoe size 8, I don't mind sandal styles but only would want a max 1" heel. Can you help please? Oh and I don't want to spend more than £30 if possible

It's quite hard to find dressy shoes with such a low heel. What about this short of style?

The last pair is my favourite to go with your chosen dress. I think you'll look fab, I'm only an inch shorter than you and often go for a statement maxi + sparkly sandals/plain ballerinas.

Wow, thank you all for looking. I quite like the silver pumps and sandles from asos and the flat sparkly sausage linked too.
Never even thought about looking at silver or gold colours. I usually just look at black.
I will have proper look tomorrow on the big screen as on my phone right now. Thank you again

It may be obvious, but on the asos website you can filter results by your size once you have put your general search term in (for example ballet flats or flat sandals). Saves you seeing a pair you like only to find they have stock left in size 3, which, as a fellow 8, I find a waste of time. I don't think black would work that well with this dress at all, it definitely needs a pale or metallic shoe.

Sorry, just realised the dress was black, don't know how I missed that, in which case I must take my last sentence back. I had a pale mint dress in mind, like the one in your link.

I'd probably go for something like this with a black maxi dress. Personally I would only really wear metallic sandals with it in better weather, but I have no idea why!
