I have tried 3 pairs of legging on....

....in different shops and in all of them I look like a badly lagged pipe

Can I just accept that they aren't for me?

& can someone suggest something casual/comfy that is easy to wear?

I agree with taffy ,leggings are evil and only to be worn by girls of 12-18 years of age .

tried some maternity ones on earlier to wear as fancy dress for 80's weekend and couldn't even buy them for that, my legs looked awful

I wore them the first time round when I was about 12

I saw a woman of about 30 wearing some grey ones, sort of grey marl - she lookd a bugger and I was desperate to tell her. My friend just eviled me and said "don't even think about it" without me saying a word

Well I disagree. I wear them with my long boots and a short dress over the top. Love em.

Oh my God. Leggings are garments of pure evil. Look fine on the 1% of the population who they do suit.
They even make my 4 year old neice look like a bag lady!

I think it is all to do with proportions. I don't think I could get away with having my arse on show in them. I might only just get away with wearing them with ballet pump type things. My fat boots make my legs appear thinner.
