My tip for comfortable earrings for sleeping in

Hey all,

I bought some stud earrings online t'other day. When I got them, I found the "posts" were quite long and poked into my neck when I was in bed. (I'm lazy and don't like to put in earrings every morning but I think I look unfinished without them)

Well, I just held them firmly and chopped off the ends with nail scissors! Now they are comfy to wear!

Sorry if this is obvious but I'm v pleased with myself! Grin

I don't sleep with earrings in. I don't know if it's the butterfly/whatever you call it at the back, but if I leave in a stud too long the back of my left ear gets painful. This could be because I fasten it too tightly, but I don't know.

I wear tiny nose studs, which have a tiny ball shape on the back. They very seldom fall out, as they are so small they don't catch on anything. (Years of working in healthcare and children have put paid to me wearing fancy earrings).

You can get them in multi packs in Claire's accessories

Littlemissindifferent you can buy them at some some jewellers, or just google leverback earnings, Amazon have loads in silver and gold (I bought some lovely pearl &silver ones on there a few weeks back for £20Smile)

I always take mine out when I shower anyway so I've never slept in them.

What size posts do you have for those labrets? 6mm or 8mm?

6mm length, I wear 1mm width, but 1.2mm are fine too. Screwing the balls on (😲!) can take a bit of practice, make sure you do it somewhere you can find the ball if you drop it, as they are tiny.

The only earrings that I can sleep in comfortably, or even wear comfortably throughout the day without my ears getting sore and itchy, are the andralok ones, which I've only ever seen in Argos.

I never sleep in earrings. I mostly wear pearls and they are too delicate to sleep in, plus the stems would dig in to my neck/behind my ears.

Posts, not stems
