How narrow are "narrow" Birkenstocks?

Not the sandal ones, but a more normal shoe design? I've seen some I like on the internet and it states that they are labelled as a "coloured in foot, which means they are a narrow fit"

Most high street shoes I can fit my feet into, but sometimes I pick up a pair and my feet are way too wide to get in. Does that mean I have wide feet, should I not bother with these shoes?

I've bought madrid birkenstocks before in the summer and have found the narrow fitting fine and my feet are far from tiny (size 9) The ones which aren't narrow came up really big and had lots of space around my toes.

I think unless you have a problem fitting your feet into the majority of non-wide fitting high street shoes they will fit fine.

I have fat feet and I must say with the narrow birkenstocks I have to go up a size bigger than normal to get them to fit.
