What have you discovered this year? Any HG products / retailers or rediscoveries of old favourites?

On the flip side what have been your 'why oh why oh why did I buy that?' moments?

For me I bought Laura Geller balance 'n' brighten in medium and have been pleased with the result (I was worried it would be too dark). I also love Natural collection mascara and MUR eye pallets. Finally I've bought some Lily Lolo make up brushes and have been really pleased with them.

Clothes wise Jaeger outlet has been great especially with their 40% off flash sales and I've had more success with buying from ebay (I check details and ask for measurements if not given).

My 'why oh why oh why did I bother with that?' was with Philip Kingsley elasticizer, it's not even for my hair type needless to say it did nothing for my hair. Will donate to dsis if she's interested.

I'm not buying anything makeup wise next year (unless I run out of said product) and I'll be interested to see how much stuff I still have left after a year of wearing make up every day.

What are your highs and lows S&B wise for 2016?

Brilliant coat!

So many people love the ruched Hush skirt but it didn't do anything for me. Has anybody seen any plain, mini but not too mini, none ruched ones. My beloved Whistles one has suddenly developed a huge hole, and they don't sell them anymore. :( H&M ones too thin and too short. Ruching doesn't suit me - just makes me look bigger than I am.

Floisme · 01/01/2017 13:41

It pains me to say it but H&M tube skirts are rubbish - even the double layer ones sag after just one wash. Have you seen the Pure Collection one? It's below the knee but I don't know if you could hoik it up? I've had one about 2 years and it's similar quality to the Whistles one - double layer and nice and thick. here it is

Thanks, Flo. That one is definitely too long. I still have some Whistles midi ones, and they are brilliant, but it's the short one I need to replace. Am only a shortarse, so it does need to be properly short.

Giddy that's good to hear, I only gave them to my sister so can claim back if required. Glad to hear there is still hope!

House of colour visit - burnished winter and buying new wardrobe for the size I am now (feeling confident and now actually succeeding in a bit of weight loss)
Kiko make up!

Lows:

Revlon primer
Becca concealor
Lancome skincare

This year I became an Aesop convert - love their volumising shampoo/conditioner, their cleanser/moisturizer/face oil. And the gorgeous packaging. Also have a new love for Buly products.
