For the love of God why are heel so frigging high these days??

I'm trying to find cheap ish gold or rose gold heels. I can just about manage 8cms or so but the only nice ones I can see are 10 or 11cms and although they look lovely, I'd need to be ringing myself an ambulance after an hour or two. Don't really suit block heels either. I'm sure shoes never used to be that high! 😂

Can anyone help? PLEASE?
