I have 2 pleather skirts but don't know what to wear them with - help please. Last day for return coming up.

I bought a black mini pleather from topshop & a greeny turquoise one from next a few weeks ago. They look nice & fit well but I haven't worn them as don't know what to wear with them. I am 41 mum of 2 littlies so not sure they're the sort of thing I'd find comfortable to wear during your average day but I thought maybe for nights out, not that I have many😂!

I am so out of touch but if I'm not going to wear them I've got 3 days
to return.

Any suggestions please from those of you with more than a clue than me?!!

Thanks i like the idea of the jumper but thought if too oversized it might appear longer than the skirt! I don't really have a jumper like this so will have a look in sales.

I'd be inclined to return the turquoise one. It's not going to be very versatile. Keep the black one.

Dress down rather than up. So slouchy jumper or t shirt, low heeled or flat boots or trainers.

I have a black one which I wear loads - generally with a crew neck jumper, opaques and flat Chelsea boots. Mine is a-line, so I need something neat on top rather than over-sized, otherwise I would look like a triangle. My favourite outfit with it is a plain grey jumper and grey marl tights, and a big acrylic necklace. A girl in my hairdresser the other day had one on with a black blouse with little white stars on it, tucked in, opaques and low heeled ankle boots which I thought looked really good. I think the trick is to dress it down rather than go fancy.

Oh, I just re-read your OP, I wear mine day to day, not for nights out - I've actually worn it to work quite a bit.

Judy, mine is also more Aline and I'm quite short so I was a bit worried a big jumper would swamp me and the skirt! I like the sound of the crew neck jumper & i have some grey ankle boots.

i wear mines for nights out dressed up with a nice lipsy lace blouse or chiffon top, all tucked into waist band and stillettos. If i wear a jumper with them i look shapeless.

I have a black leather one - as PPs have said, dress down rather than up. Always opaques, usually an oversized jumper, trainers or flat boots. I wore it on Xmas day in fact with an oversized silk shirt, long green cardigan and black trainers.

I wear to work with opaque tights and flat Chelsea boots and either a collared cotton shirt with a jumper over the top or silk shirt. I think I have the same skirt as you, OP; it's a black mini from Topshop. Also have a black A line from H&M.

I have similar - both a green and black one. Wear as day wear with opaques and ankle boots; on top a fitted jumper.

I wear a polo neck, tights and ankle boots or an oversized jumper, or going out top.

I'm 40 and have a black one from Next. I've worn it more than I thought I would.
Work: with thick opaque tights, loafers, shirt tucked in and sometimes a skinny cashmere jumper.
Nights out: opaque tights, heels, bottle green lace long sleeve top tucked in or black band t tucked.
