What would you pick?

DH is encouraging me to buy a ring to commemorate the birth of our daughter. I don't have to be asked twice!

Have any of you any Pinterest picks saved to show me as inspiration? Or rings you have yourselves?

I already have an eternity ring from years ago, so was thinking of something different haven't a clue!

(Yes I realise this is a very jammy quandary...Blush )

Oh how fun! What month was she born in? What colour gold do you like, what kind of style jewellery do you usually go for?

SapphireandSteel · 17/12/2016 13:36

September so Sapphire! Which I looove so happy to have sapphire in there.

Forgot the metal would have to match lol. Everything else I have is white gold. Yellow looks rank on me.

As for style, I haven't a clue!

I've had my eye on this for ages. Think it is stunning in the rose gold

Completely the wrong price range though....

Perp · 17/12/2016 14:26

Hmm I agree with greenolives!
$8000? When the op clearly stated her budget!
They don't put POA on rings that are in that kind of budget either!

Have a look around op. Many jewellers have sales at this time of year.
I love diamonds but never buy brand new now, if you look in vintage shops or the pre owned section of many jewellers you can get so much more bang for your buck. Don't be put off by secondhand, diamonds are a couple of million years old to begin with anyway, don't forget.

SapphireandSteel · 17/12/2016 15:51

That's really flipping gorgeous.

I had this aquamarine rose gold ring made as we used a stone we already had but this looks in the right price range.

drinkingchanelno5 · 17/12/2016 16:31

Oops sorry, I read your budget as £12k

Independent jewellers every time- I was in one today buying a few stocking fillers and a lady had commissioned a sapphire and diamond ring- it was stunning. Art Deco style but 'chunkier'- really wearable. There was a shop full of (jealous) people oohing and aaahing!

StatisticallyChallenged · 18/12/2016 14:16

Have a look at Glamira, every ring can be spec'd with the stones of your choice - I have a lovely amethyst and diamond one from them, but it could just as easily be sapphire.

www.glamira.co.uk/glamira-ring-jena.html?alloy=white-375&diamond=amethyst&stone2=diamond for example, I have this with amethyst centre stone and diamond accents. They have loads of choice.

I had a ring like this made. I had one diamond already and it cost £1000.

Personally I'd go for something a bit more contemporary

this

Or this

Maybe something like this

This hasn't got that vintage look but I still love the unusual east-west stone. What do you all think?

LOVE that Sapphire. Gorgeous and really unusual. Prefer it to all the others posted already (even the ridiculously priced ones).
