Boot cut jeans and heels 👠??? Yes or no ?

Xmas night out tomorrow! Big diet fail ! Soo my skinny jeans are too tight ! In between sizes so if I buy new they will be a bit to big! I have bootcut next ones that are comfy fit but not sure if they would look dated ! Any opinions welcomed thanks ( I'm 50 .. 5.10 and size 12 jeans heading more to 14 ( hence next 12 fit and top shop / river island are a squeeze ! Shoes are red 5 inch heels

What hubble said. Summery bootcut with wedges - fine. 5 inch red heels with bootcuts in winter (when it's damp and draughty) - no.

I got told how glam I looked in skinny black flares and heels on a night out recently. I'm 47 and felt fab. Obviously Mumsnet would have thought I looked awful. I'd look ridiculous in skinny jeans and heels.

Gloria on Modern Family wears them with heels and looks amazing, if that helps. Not sure about on a mere mortal...

Clutching at straws !! How about a jumpsuit? Or do I look like an overstuffed xmas pud !! What about shoes ? I have heeled sandals that are comfier ? Or should I stick to pyjamas and slippers ;)

I wore all black with red suede shoes at a recent Christmas do and had loads of compliments on the shoes.

I was going to wear flares and heels tonight! Can't wear skinnys as my top isn't long enough to cover any camel toe!

They are super long flares, touch the top of my shoe long, no way to wear them with flats long.....

You look fab. Just wear something flashy and eye catching around the neck, to liven it up and for proportion.

I'm 5ft 10 too...and want to say, good for you for wearing 5 inch heels. You look ace.

The jump suit looks lovely, go with that.

I'm in the camp that if jeans fit well and are comfortable then that's better than cramming yourself into a pair that don't fit or flatter, you should dress to make you look and feel good, not because something is fashionable.

Boot cut or flare though should come to the bottom of your heels, to the ankle and then heels is not a good look on anyone.
