DS has chicken pox so I'm housebound and have my work do on Friday (meal followed by dancing, in a hotel). I saw this dress on Facebook and it looked red in the picture, but in real life it's fuschia pink. Will it be ok for the party?

I've picked it up as it was only a fiver, and if I don't wear it for Christmas it'll be great for the summer, but can I wear pink at Xmas or is it too bright and summery? Also noticed when I got it home that it's petite and I'm about 5'5, so it's a bit shorter on me than the model in the photo.

What do you think?

(If it makes any difference I'm a HOC Winter and this is one of my best colours)!

Nothing wrong with the colour! How does it look on though? It looks pretty shapeless in the picture.

It's nice enough, I'm not bowled over but given the circumstances and cost then it will be fine.

I'm the plainest of Janes when it comes to clothing but there's not much to it is there?
I think it's a nice dress and you would look nice in it Smile

It's ok. It's probably more of a Summer dress but you have enough on your plate at the moment- it's fine.

I agree that it looks a bit shapeless. Can you make it a bit more Christmassy with a bolero or shrug from sequins or furry or something?

Metallic belt, big earrings, fun shoes, and you're good to go.

Thanks everyone, I think I'm going to save the dress for the summer - it IS very bright and I'm not the sort of person who likes to stand out. I might be the only one in a crowd of dark dresses and I'd stand out like a highlighter pen Shock Great idea about the fur bolero, I've got one so I might wear that in lieu if a winter coat!

The dress is fit and flare style with quite a bit of swing, but you obviously can't see that in the photo!

DH has got home from a conference early so I thought I'd try to pop into town when the kids are back from school. What shape dresses are in now - shift dresses? What about trousers in case I find a nice top? I haven't got a clue where to start!

Go for a fit and flare dress with a nod to glitz.
