Theyre Red or dead Jade Mary janes from schuh. I had an idea there was some kind of guarantee? Is it a cheek trying to return them after a terms wear? Annoyed to have spent £60 for them to have fallen apart so soon. DD buses to and from school so its not as if shes been particularly hard on them

I returned my dd's kickers to schuh last year as they completely fell apart after only a month. Schuh were great and offered me a refund immediately so I would say it's definitely worth a go! Sale of goods act says that items are required to last for a reasonable amount of time. I would argue that one term isn't reasonable for a fairly expensive pair of shoes designed for school wear. Good luck!

I would be right behind Bobsmum, making the same complaint.

Me too, you've got nothing to lose.

chezbot · 13/12/2016 15:29

You should have bought some plimsoles, you would have been sorted for at least two years Grin

imjessie · 13/12/2016 16:07

I would imagine they are fashion shoes and not designed for durability like school shoes supposedly are .

BusterGonad · 13/12/2016 16:22

I would agree with missjessie I know it's boring but I'd buy a tried and tested brand! Confused

I have got through 2 pairs but it is her fault for dragging the front of her shoes.
I now go super cheap with Tesco or m and s. She does it even with pricey leather shoes!!

Shuh customer service is pretty good. I got a replacement pretty quickly after I sent them off for the inspection. (Couldn't get to the shop)

Just so you know, if you haven't got the receipt and you paid by card they can track the transaction using the time and date on your bank statement.

We usually go for DMs and they last the year but thought she might want something a bit more 'cool' for year 7. Back to DMs it is. Really appreciate all your insights. Thankyou
