How do I match my jewellery metals to my outfits?

Hi,

I'm between seasons so can wear gold or silver toned jewellery.

I know with a black outfit, silver usually goes better.
And with say a yellow dress in summer, accessories should be gold.

What about other colours like blue/pink? And what about white?

How do you decide what jewellery to wear with a particular outfit?

I prefer gold with black
I generally tend to look if the colour of the outfit is warm or cool and go accordingly. Ie gold with warm colours (so warm yellow with gold and cool yellow with silver etc)
