I get you OP! Bought a denim pencil skirt like this. You basically have to sit with your legs crossed at all times! It doesn't get worn much.

Yes Blair! Even if you have nice knicks on, I don't really want to show everyone. It seems like there's no elegant way to sit down.

I wear a slip underneath. You can then see a lacy hem through the split when you sit down, but that's better than flashing your lady parts.

Keep your knees together!

Use your napkin when you are sitting down to eat.

Or just go for a double split dress, which is less likely to show your actual bits than its alternative name of "vagina dress" suggests...

I love the idea of slightly risque clothing bringing the slip back into vogue. (Where can you buy slips now? Surely not much of a market for them)

You can get inexpensive half-slips from Matalan if you'll only be wearing them under this particular skirt.

Don't make my mistake. I wore a dress with a split to the front without realising it flashed when sitting on a lowish seat, I had support tights under which had a heavy nude panel at the top which made it look from a distance that I had no knickers on. I was subjected to some scathing abuse from a lady across the room. I was mortified and wearing huge knickers.
