I quite like this bag but I am worried about the handles

it's really nice but I am scared the handles won't cope with any weight

I'm about to start a job where I will need a work bag - but phone, Kindle, purse, drink bottle, snack, pens etc will the straps survive?

Hmm they do look a bit insubstantial. JL would be safe bet to return if they did prove to be weak though surely? Just hang onto the receipt.

I like it, and I think just carrying the things you mention it will be fine

My leather bags last until I got bored of them so a few years. The straps are probably sewn inside the holes so should be ok.

I wouldn't carry a massive water bottle in any handbag though. Unless it's at the bottom on its side it will distort the shape.

I seem to be quite hard on my bags or I pick badly they don't last well
